'Tropicalia' India Pale Ale Beer, Georgia

Creature Comforts Brewing Co. 'Tropicalia' India Pale Ale Beer helped establish the Athens brewery’s reputation with a distinctive balance of juicy hop flavor, soft texture and restrained finishing bitterness. Named after Tropicália, Brazil’s boundary-pushing artistic movement of the 1960s, this flagship IPA brings an equally expressive approach to Citra, Centennial and Galaxy hops. Its citrus and tropical-fruit character earned a devoted following well before its appearance as one of Thor’s beers in “Avengers: Endgame.”

Product Details:

Hops: Citra, Centennial and Galaxy

Malt Profile: Pilsner, Munich, wheat and crystal malts

ABV: 6.6%

IBU: 65

Availability: Year-round flagship offering

Founding Brewmaster: Adam Beauchamp

Founding Head Brewer: David Stein

Sensory Description:

Citrus and ripe passion fruit lead the aroma, followed by grapefruit, orange and hints of pine. The palate is soft and rounded, carrying generous tropical hop flavor over a lightly biscuity malt foundation. Gentle sweetness supports the fruit without obscuring the hop character, while a measured bitterness gives the finish definition. Lingering citrus and tropical notes keep the overall impression bright and balanced.

Awards & Accolades:

Score: Craft Beer & Brewing, 97 Points, 2016

Score: The Beer Connoisseur, 96 Points, 2015

Brewer's Background:

Creature Comforts opened in April 2014 in a restored former tire warehouse in downtown Athens, Georgia. David Stein’s recipe development and Adam Beauchamp’s production-brewing experience helped shape its early beers, while co-founder Chris Herron contributed beverage-industry business expertise. The brewery’s focus on balanced flavor and technical consistency sits alongside a commitment to its hometown through initiatives including Get Comfortable and Brew For One. Beauchamp succeeded Herron as CEO in 2024, continuing the company’s emphasis on beer, community and human connection.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve at approximately 7 to 10°C in a clean tulip or IPA glass to allow the citrus and tropical hop aromas to develop. Pair with grilled shrimp tacos, citrus-marinated chicken, spicy Thai dishes or a sharp cheddar burger. Its fruit-forward character also complements mango salsa and lightly charred vegetables. Keep refrigerated and enjoy fresh for the clearest hop expression.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2699/1632/files/Creature_Comforts_Brewing_Co._Tropicalia_India_Pale_Ale_Beer_Georgia.png?v=1793115386
https://www.winedispensary.com/products/creature-comforts-brewing-co-tropicalia-india-pale-ale-beer-georgia
