Revolution Brewing 'Hazy Hero' Hazy IPA Beer is a 7.3% Hazy IPA built around two distinct dry-hop additions featuring Idaho 7, Citra, Sultana, Centennial, Cashmere, Amarillo, and Mosaic. Developed as an evolution of Revolution's experiments with hazy IPA, it places saturated American hop character and supple texture ahead of aggressive bitterness while retaining the balance and drinkability central to Brewmaster Jim Cibak's approach to the Hero IPA family.

Product Details:

Founder: Josh Deth

Brewmaster: Jim Cibak

Hops: Idaho 7, Citra, Sultana, Centennial, Cashmere, Amarillo, and Mosaic

Dry Hopping: Two separate dry-hop additions

ABV: 7.3%

IBU: 35

Availability: Year-round

Sensory Description:

Fruit-forward and expressive, with tropical notes of papaya, passionfruit, and melon supported by bright citrus character. The palate is smooth and velvety, giving the concentrated hop flavors a soft foundation while keeping bitterness deliberately measured. Juicy tropical fruit remains at the forefront through the palate, with enough hop definition to maintain freshness and balance. The finish is clean and refreshing, allowing the fruit-driven character to linger without becoming heavy.

Awards & Accolades:

2021 European Beer Star Awards: Bronze, Specialty IPA

Brewer's Background:

Revolution Brewing grew from founder Josh Deth's experience in Chicago's brewing community, including early work at Golden Prairie Brewing and later positions as a cellarman and brewpub brewer at Goose Island. After several attempts to establish his own brewery, Deth opened the Revolution brewpub in 2010, followed by its production brewery in 2012. Brewmaster Jim Cibak has played a central role in Revolution's brewing program and the development of its hop-focused Hero beers. Hazy-Hero emerged from a series of experiments with hazy IPA at both brewpub and production scale, refining hop selection, bitterness, haze, texture, and fruit expression before joining the brewery's year-round lineup in 2019.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve at approximately 7 to 10 degrees Celsius in an IPA or tulip glass to concentrate its tropical and citrus aromatics while preserving its velvety texture.
