Bodegas Muga El Andén de la Estación Crianza 2022 is a contemporary expression of classic Rioja, combining the Muga family's renowned craftsmanship with a youthful, vibrant style. Named after the historic railway platform in Haro's famed Barrio de la Estación, this wine pays tribute to the rail connection that helped establish Rioja's international reputation during the phylloxera era. Crafted from sustainably farmed vineyards across Rioja Alta, it delivers freshness, elegance, and remarkable drinkability while remaining unmistakably Muga in character.

Sensory Description:

Expressive aromas of black cherry, cassis, and ripe red berries are layered with sweet baking spices, cocoa, subtle smoky oak, and a touch of ink. The palate is juicy and beautifully balanced, revealing generous dark fruit, earthy complexity, and finely textured tannins with notes of toasted oak and gentle spice. Fresh acidity carries the wine through to a long, savoury finish that is both refined and highly food-friendly.

Winemaker Background:

Founded in 1932, Bodegas Muga is one of Rioja's most respected family estates and remains one of the region's defining producers. Located in Haro's historic Barrio de la Estación, the winery uniquely maintains its own cooperage, producing every oak vat and barrel used during vinification and ageing. Combining generations of traditional craftsmanship with meticulous vineyard research and sustainable viticulture, the Muga family continues to produce wines that faithfully express Rioja's heritage while embracing thoughtful innovation.
