October 2026 Wine Club Release

As October arrives, we all collectively hope the end of an oppressively hot summer has arrived and cool evenings and snow-capped mountain views are in our near future.

These wines, from around the world, reflect the tradition of wines that can help navigate the transition and reflect the changing of seasonal diets from bright fruit to a richer diet more appropriate for cool nights around a campfire.

Select Tier

This month’s Select Tier captures the shift from warm afternoons to cooler evenings with wines that bring more texture, spice and food-friendly depth to the table.

Austria opens the lineup with Setzer Grüner Veltliner, bright with apple, herbs and mineral freshness, alongside Hofer Zweigelt, a juicy, lightly savory red that is excellent with pork, sausages and roasted vegetables. Wautoma Springs Sauvignon Blanc adds crisp acidity and herbal energy, making it a natural partner for goat cheese, poultry and fall produce.

From Oregon, Pearce Predhomme Pinot Noir brings cherry fruit and supple texture, while Scarpa Briccomora Barbera d’Asti offers sour cherry, savory herbs and lively acidity for pasta, mushrooms and roasted meats. Outward Sendero Luminoso finishes the set with darker fruit, spice and Rhône-inspired depth.

These are wines for the in-between season: still fresh enough for warm days, but perfectly suited to the richer foods and cooler nights of fall.

Premium Tier

The Premium Tier takes this month’s fall transition theme into more distinctive territory, with wines that pair seasonal richness with freshness, minerality and structure.

Vini di Luca Virgola Etna Bianco opens with Carricante grown on Etna’s volcanic soils, bringing citrus, green apple, saline minerality and bright acidity to richer seafood, poultry and vegetable dishes. Fio Wines ‘Jo Jo’ offers a very different expression of Riesling, with extended skin contact and Fuder aging creating floral aromatics, tropical fruit and added texture for the cooler season.

The reds lean deeper without becoming heavy. Vini di Luca Virgola Etna Rosso combines sour cherry, wild strawberry, herbs and volcanic savor in a finely structured Nerello Mascalese. Pollard Vineyard Merlot closes the set with black cherry, supple tannins and polished richness from a sustainably farmed Yakima Valley estate vineyard.

Together, these wines capture fall at its best: more depth and warmth at the table, but still enough freshness and energy to keep every bottle lively.

Private Sommelier Tier

Private Sommelier is built around the individual. Each month, we talk with clients about what they need, whether that means filling gaps in a cellar, building an investment-worthy collection, planning a celebration, or simply finding something exceptional to drink.

Recent favorites include two beautifully expressive German Rieslings: Hexamer Rheingrafenberg Spätlese from the Nahe and Unterlind Brauneberger Juffer Kabinett from the Mosel. For celebrations, Peter Lauer Sekt Brut and Domaine d’Henri 821 Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut offer distinctive alternatives to the usual sparkling selections.

For the cellar, Château Labégorce Margaux represents exactly what Private Sommelier can uncover: a classic Bordeaux with the pedigree and structure to enjoy now or hold as part of a developing collection.

There is no standard Private Sommelier box. The selections change because every client, cellar and occasion is different.
