Effie's Homemade grew from a family oatcake recipe passed down to Effie MacLellan in Nova Scotia and carried to her home in Massachusetts. Her daughter, Joan MacIsaac, and longtime friend Irene Costello built the company around that tradition, expanding from the original oatcakes into biscuits that emphasize simple ingredients, crisp textures, and a balance of buttery sweetness and savory flavor.
