Distiller’s Background:

Sarajishvili was founded in 1884 by David Sarajishvili, the visionary Georgian scientist and entrepreneur who introduced classic French cognac production techniques to Georgia and the wider Russian Empire. By 1887, the distillery had released its first commercial brandy, quickly gaining international recognition for quality and craftsmanship. Drawing upon Georgia’s ancient viticultural heritage and indigenous grape varieties, Sarajishvili continues to produce brandies that combine traditional methods, oak maturation, and regional identity with a refined, modern approach.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve neat at cellar temperature in a tulip-shaped brandy glass to emphasize its layered aromatics and velvety texture. Excellent after dinner alongside dark chocolate, walnut pastries, dried figs, roasted nuts, or aged cheeses. It also pairs beautifully with cigars, espresso, or contemplative sipping occasions.

Brandy

Brandy and Cognac, kindred spirits born of fruit and fire, represent the height of refined indulgence and artisanal heritage.

From rustic cellars in Gascony to gleaming copper stills in the heart of Cognac, these storied beverages evoke centuries of craftsmanship, transforming simple fermented fruit—most often grapes—into rich, amber elixirs treasured the world over.

While all Cognac is brandy, not all brandy is Cognac; yet together, they offer a spectrum of sensory elegance, from the approachable warmth of a domestic brandy to the intricate finesse of a Grand Champagne Cognac.
