Beer and cheddar meet before the cheeseboard in Vermont Farmstead Cheese Co.'s 'Bell's Two-Hearted Alehouse' Cheddar. Bell’s Two Hearted IPA is added directly to the milled curds before pressing and aging, building the beer into the cheese itself. The result brings an easygoing cheddar together with a distinctive American IPA, equally at home beside pretzels and mustard or melted over a freshly grilled burger.

Producer's Background:

Vermont Farmstead Cheese Co. began in 2009 when South Woodstock residents joined together to preserve a local dairy farm. That community effort grew into a cheesemaking business supporting farms throughout the region. Head Cheesemaker Rick Woods has been involved since the beginning, bringing extensive production experience to a range that includes traditional cheeses and brewery collaborations such as the Alehouse cheddars.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve with pretzels, whole-grain mustard and onion jam, alongside an American pale ale or Bell’s Two Hearted IPA. Melt over burgers, fold into queso or layer into a grilled cheese sandwich with caramelized onions. For a cheeseboard, allow the cheese to lose its refrigerator chill before serving. Keep refrigerated between servings.
