Founded in Denver in 2010, Crooked Stave Brewing Co. built its reputation around an exploratory approach to fermentation, combining brewing science with creative experimentation across hop-forward beer, lager, mixed fermentation, and barrel-aged styles. Lawson's Finest Liquids traces its origins to Sean Lawson, who began the Vermont brewery with a focus on highly aromatic, characterful beer and became particularly associated with hop-driven releases. Lupulin Gumbo brought the two breweries together for a limited collaboration in 2023, combining their brewing approaches around an unconventional trio of Talus, Vista, and HBC 630 hops.
