Candied tangerine, bright citrus, and dank pine open with a clean, sharply defined hop profile. Crux Fermentation Project 'Hang Tight' West Coast IPA Beer, Oregon is a pale, dry interpretation of the style, combining Simcoe and Amarillo dry hopping with a light body and firm but measured bitterness. Its crisp structure reflects Crux’s longstanding preference for expressive hop character without sacrificing balance or drinkability.

Product Details:

  • Head Brewer: Ryan Atagi
  • ABV: 6.5%
  • IBU: 60
  • Hops: Simcoe, Amarillo
  • Dry-Hopping: Dry-hopped with Simcoe and Amarillo

Sensory Description:

Bright citrus and candied tangerine lead the aromatics, followed by dank hop character, pine, and a subtle tropical edge. The palate is light-bodied and notably dry, allowing the hops to remain vivid without excess sweetness or weight. Medium bitterness provides a firm West Coast frame, while citrus peel and resinous notes carry through a crisp, clean finish. The result is focused and refreshing, with enough bitterness for definition while retaining an easy-drinking character.

Brewer's Background:

Crux Fermentation Project was founded in Bend in 2012 by veteran brewer Larry Sidor and Paul Evers. Sidor brought decades of brewing experience to the project, including previous work at Olympia Brewing and as brewmaster at Deschutes Brewery, and built Crux around experimentation across hop-forward ales, lagers, Belgian-inspired beers, wild fermentation, and barrel aging. In February 2026, the brewery was purchased by the Rhine family, owners of Cascade Lakes Brewing, and became part of the Oregon Beverage Collective, a partnership of Central Oregon beverage producers designed to share resources while preserving the identities of its individual brands. Head Brewer Ryan Atagi now leads brewing at Crux, continuing its emphasis on technically precise, exploratory beer. Hang Tight represents the cleaner side of that approach, presenting West Coast IPA character through dryness, clarity, citrus, and restrained weight.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve at approximately 7 to 10 degrees Celsius in an IPA glass or tulip to emphasize its citrus, tangerine, and dank hop aromatics while preserving its crisp finish. Pair with grilled burgers, fish tacos, spicy chicken, carnitas, pizza, sharp cheddar, or dishes with citrus, chile, and fresh herbs.
