Forty-year-old Moscato Bianco vines rooted in the limestone-clay hillsides of Castiglione Tinella provide the foundation for Vietti's 2025 Cascinetta Moscato d'Asti. Rather than fermenting the grape's natural sugars to dryness, the estate carefully interrupts fermentation in pressurised stainless-steel tanks, preserving an unusually expressive combination of ripe stone-fruit aromatics, natural sweetness and delicate effervescence. The resulting wine carries 127.5 g/L of residual sugar, balanced by 6.8 g/L of acidity and a gentle 2.5 bar of pressure. White peach, apricot, rose petals and a subtle ginger accent unfold across a supple, lightly sparkling palate, with lively acidity keeping the finish fresh and defined.

Sensory Description:

Pale straw yellow with soft golden reflections and a delicate stream of bubbles. The bouquet is intensely aromatic, opening with ripe yellow peach, apricot and rose petals, followed by hints of ginger, citrus and lychee. The palate is sweet yet lively, its generous stone-fruit character balanced by bright acidity and a gentle, persistent sparkle. A supple texture gives way to a clean, fragrant finish of fresh apricot, peach and lightly spiced floral notes.

Winemaker's Background:

Established in Castiglione Falletto in the late nineteenth century, Vietti developed its reputation through generations of the Vietti-Currado family, becoming one of Piedmont's most influential producers. Alfredo Currado helped pioneer the modern revival of Arneis and the estate's early single-vineyard Barolo bottlings, while its artist-designed labels became a distinctive part of the winery's identity. The Krause family acquired Vietti in 2016 and subsequently expanded its vineyard holdings across some of Piedmont's most celebrated sites. Today, winemaker Eugenio Palumbo oversees the estate's winemaking, maintaining the precision and vineyard-focused approach that defines its portfolio. Cascinetta reflects that philosophy through the careful preservation of Moscato Bianco's natural aromatics, sweetness and freshness.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve chilled at 6–8°C in a tulip-shaped white wine glass to concentrate its floral aromas while allowing the fine bubbles to develop. Its natural sweetness makes it a particularly good match for peach tart, apricot pastries, panna cotta, fruit salads and delicate sponge cakes. It also pairs well with fresh cheeses, mildly spicy Asian dishes and fruit-based desserts. Enjoy as a light aperitif or at the close of a meal, preferably while young to appreciate its vibrant fruit and aromatic freshness.
