From the beginning, Ska refused to behave like a conventional beer company. Its identity was shaped by the founders’ shared love of ska music, independent culture, and the do-it-yourself spirit of the bands, record labels, artists, and small venues that supported the genre. Instead of polished corporate branding, the brewery developed an eccentric comic-book universe filled with recurring characters, secret agents, villains, strange machines, and tongue-in-cheek slogans. The brewery’s enduring philosophy, “It takes characters to brew beer with character,” captures both the personalities behind the company and the expressive beers they produce.
