Select Tier

This month’s Select Tier explores the interplay between tradition and approachability, highlighting wines that honor regional identity while embracing a more modern, drinkable expression. Spanning Italy, California, and Portugal, these selections showcase how classic winegrowing regions continue to evolve, producing bottles that are both rooted in place and immediately engaging.

From Piedmont, Fratelli Ponte Roero Arneis DOCG offers a fresh and vibrant introduction to one of Italy’s most historic white varieties. Known for its delicate aromatics and crisp structure, Arneis thrives in the sandy soils of Roero, delivering bright orchard fruit, subtle floral notes, and a clean, refreshing finish that reflects both heritage and precision.

Fattoria Le Pupille ‘Poggio Argentato’ from Maremma Toscana brings a coastal Tuscan perspective to white wine, blending varieties to create a layered and expressive profile. Under the guidance of Elisabetta Geppetti, one of Italy’s most influential female winemakers, the wine balances richness with lift, combining ripe fruit, minerality, and a polished texture shaped by the Mediterranean climate.

The reds in this tier further illustrate the theme of accessibility meeting tradition. Fratelli Ponte ‘Fiorellino’ Red captures Piedmont’s softer, fruit-forward side, offering an easygoing yet regionally expressive wine built on bright red fruit and gentle structure. Cartello ‘Sonoma Red’ from Alexander Valley reflects California’s ability to blend power with approachability, delivering ripe fruit, smooth tannins, and a balanced profile that highlights the region’s sun-drenched character.

From Portugal, XXVI Talhas ‘Tinto do Tareco’ channels ancient winemaking techniques through a contemporary lens, utilizing traditional clay amphorae to produce a wine that is both rustic and refined. Earthy undertones, lively acidity, and a sense of raw authenticity define the style, connecting modern drinkers to centuries-old practices. Rounding out the selection, La Togata Barengo Toscana IGT showcases Tuscany’s versatility, offering a structured yet approachable red that reflects the region’s hallmark balance of fruit, acidity, and savory complexity.

Together, these wines present a cohesive look at how classic regions are adapting for today’s wine drinker, maintaining their identity while crafting wines that are vibrant, expressive, and effortlessly enjoyable.

Premium Tier

The Premium Tier this month explores the balance between innovation and restraint, highlighting wines that are guided by intention, site, and a clear winemaking philosophy. Across California and Slovenia, these selections reflect producers who prioritize precision over excess, resulting in wines that are layered, expressive, and built with a sense of purpose.

Cordant Winery's ‘Maniacal’ GSM Blend from Paso Robles channels Rhône inspiration through a California lens, combining ripe fruit, spice, and savory depth with a measured structure that emphasizes harmony rather than weight. It’s a wine that captures the region’s warmth while demonstrating a refined, composed approach to blending.

From Anderson Valley, Lussier's Côte de Boont’s Pinot Noir offers a more restrained and site-driven expression. Cool-climate influence shapes a wine of aromatic lift, fine tannins, and underlying tension, showcasing Pinot Noir with clarity and elegance rather than opulence.

Marjan Simcic’s Cru Selection Pinot Grigio Ramato from Goriska Brda bridges history and modernity. Crafted using extended skin contact, it delivers texture and complexity while maintaining freshness and precision, illustrating how traditional techniques can yield distinctly contemporary results.

Matthiasson Napa Valley White completes the tier with a philosophy rooted in balance and restraint. Known for redefining expectations of Napa whites, this wine emphasizes acidity, structure, and nuance, offering a layered, food-driven profile that highlights vineyard expression over richness.

Together, these wines reflect a cohesive vision of modern premium winemaking, where careful decisions in both vineyard and cellar lead to wines of depth, energy, and lasting character.

Private Sommelier Tier

Our Private Sommelier Tier continues to operate as a highly tailored experience, where each selection is guided by individual preferences, cellar goals, and evolving curiosities. Rather than a fixed lineup, this tier reflects a dynamic range of wines chosen to align with each member’s palate, offering access to both iconic producers and compelling discoveries across the world’s most respected regions.

This month’s selections highlight that breadth and intention. Champagne enthusiasts experienced the depth and refinement of Drappier's ‘Grande Sendrée’ Brut Millésime, a wine that combines power with finesse through meticulous aging and precise blending. From Tuscany, Gaja Ca’Marcanda ‘Magari’ delivers a polished and modern expression of coastal terroir, balancing richness with structure in a way that reflects the estate’s unmistakable identity.

Collectors of Napa Valley classics encountered two distinct perspectives on the region. Inglenook Cabernet Sauvignon from Rutherford offers a historically rooted expression, emphasizing structure, balance, and longevity, while Ehlers Estate Merlot from St. Helena showcases a more nuanced, vineyard-focused approach with elegance and depth at its core.

Rounding out the selections, By Farr Chardonnay from Geelong provides a striking example of Australian precision, where cool-climate conditions and meticulous winemaking result in a wine of tension, minerality, and refined texture.

Together, these wines represent just a snapshot of the highly personalized experience offered within the Private Sommelier Tier, where each shipment is thoughtfully curated to reflect not only the world’s finest producers but the individual tastes and aspirations of each member.
