Winemaker's Background:

Badia di Morrona is a historic Tuscan estate stewarded by the Gaslini Alberti family, who have owned and managed the property since 1939. Today, the estate is led by Filippo Gaslini Alberti and Alessandra Gaslini Alberti, representing the third generation of family ownership and guiding the winery’s continued evolution with a balance of tradition and precision. Winemaking is overseen by Adolfo Benvenuti, the estate’s longtime enologist and head winemaker, whose deep familiarity with the vineyards and cellar practices has made him central to the stylistic refinement of the wines. Benvenuti works closely with the family on all technical decisions, supported by external enological consultation from Luca Rettondini, ensuring both continuity and thoughtful modernization. Together, this team combines generational stewardship with focused technical expertise, shaping wines that remain firmly rooted in Chianti tradition while expressing clarity, balance, and longevity.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve at 16-18°C in a wide Bordeaux glass to enhance its aromatic profile and textural elegance. Ideal pairings include beef braised in beer, spaghetti puttanesca, penne arrabbiata, and classic tomato-based pasta dishes. The wine also pairs beautifully with cured meats, red meats, and game, making it a versatile companion at the table.

The 2020 Badia di Morrona I Sodi del Paretaio Riserva is a poised and authentic representation of Sangiovese, offering both immediate pleasure and aging potential—a timeless tribute to the Chianti tradition.
