Winemaker's Background:

Château Guilhem dates back to 1791 and is now under the stewardship of Bertrand Gourdou, the fifth generation of his family to run the estate. The château is located in Malepère, the most westerly appellation of the Languedoc, where the Atlantic breezes and calcareous sandstone soils create a unique microclimate. With 35 hectares planted mostly to Bordeaux varieties, the estate operates organically and honors both the past and present through sustainable viticulture and a balance of traditional and modern winemaking.
