Like sunlight cast across a garden at dusk, the 2024 Domaine Coudert – Clos de la Roilette Fleurie is floral, fresh, and gently glowing. Delicate violet, red currant, and raspberry aromas bloom slowly in the glass, evolving into warm notes of black tea, rose, and spice. Sourced from the eastern slope of Fleurie, where granite and manganese-rich soils meet a cool touch of altitude, this wine carries the clarity of place with a supple, easy grace.

Sensory Description:

This vintage opens with notes of violet, red cherry, and raspberry, trailing into hints of kirsch, roasted spice, and fresh mint. The palate is medium-bodied and finely structured, carrying warm fruit tones and a hint of earthy minerality. Gentle tannins and a subtle black tea bitterness shape the finish, while delicate acidity keeps the wine lifted and balanced throughout.

Winemaker's Background:

The Coudert family has farmed the nine hectares of Clos de la Roilette since 1967, when Fernand Coudert revived the neglected estate. His son Alain Coudert has led the domaine since 1984, refining a style that bridges Fleurie’s perfume with the structure of neighboring Moulin-à-Vent. Known for wines of elegance and aging potential, Clos de la Roilette’s distinctive terroir, rich in clay and manganese, is tempered by granite soils in specific parcels. Alain's skill lies in expressing this balance of power and delicacy across his range, with each cuvée honoring a slightly different expression of the land.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve at 59–61°F after a brief decant. This Fleurie pairs effortlessly with roast chicken, pork tenderloin, duck breast, or vegetable tarts. Its soft floral core and fresh acidity also shine alongside creamy cheeses and slow-simmered vegetable stews.

The 2024 Domaine Coudert – Clos de la Roilette Fleurie is a vibrant, terroir-driven Gamay from one of Beaujolais’ landmark producers, graceful, aromatic, and ready to charm from its first pour to its final glass.
