Winemaker's Background:

Tenuta Pian delle Vigne was acquired by Marchesi Antinori in 1995, marking the renowned family’s entrance into the prestigious Montalcino region. Named after a historic nineteenth-century railway station located on the estate, Pian delle Vigne encompasses 184 hectares in one of Tuscany’s most respected growing areas. The Antinori family has been producing wine for over 600 years and remains one of Italy’s most influential wine dynasties. Under the leadership of Albiera Antinori and her sisters, the estate continues to balance tradition with innovation while highlighting the purity and elegance of Sangiovese.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve at 16–18°C (61–64°F) in a large red wine glass. This Rosso di Montalcino pairs beautifully with bistecca alla Fiorentina, roasted pork, grilled lamb, wild boar ragù, mushroom risotto, pasta with rich tomato sauces, aged Pecorino, Parmigiano Reggiano, and Italian charcuterie. While approachable now, it will continue to develop additional complexity through 2032 and beyond.
