Sensory Description:

Deep ruby with purple highlights, Hussonet opens with expressive aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, graphite, fresh mint, bay leaf, rosemary, and subtle baking spice. Layers of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and cedar emerge as the wine opens. The palate is rich yet remarkably poised, offering concentrated dark fruit framed by silky, tightly woven tannins and vibrant acidity. The Syrah component adds gentle spice and depth, while the cool 2021 growing season contributes freshness and aromatic precision. The finish is long, elegant, and persistent with lingering notes of herbs, graphite, and dark berries.

Winemaker's Background:

Haras de Pirque combines centuries of Italian winemaking heritage with one of Chile's most celebrated wine regions. Acquired by Marchesi Antinori, whose family has been producing wine for more than 600 years, the estate is recognized for its iconic horseshoe-shaped gravity-flow winery inspired by its world-class thoroughbred horse farm. Located at the foot of the Andes in the Maipo Valley, Haras de Pirque practices certified organic viticulture and sustainable farming, utilizing gravity-fed winemaking to preserve fruit purity while minimizing oxidation. The estate has become one of Chile's benchmark producers of elegant, terroir-driven Cabernet Sauvignon.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve at 60–64°F (16–18°C) after decanting for approximately 45–60 minutes to allow the wine's layered aromas and silky texture to fully develop. It pairs beautifully with grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, venison, beef tenderloin, herb-crusted pork loin, aged cheddar, Gouda, or mushroom-based dishes. The wine's freshness and refined tannins also make it an excellent companion for slow-cooked stews and hearty winter cuisine.
