Vinos del Viento Amber 2024 is a vibrant, skin-contact white wine that offers an approachable introduction to the world of orange wines while remaining true to its natural winemaking philosophy. Crafted from high-altitude Moscatel de Alejandría vineyards in Aragón, this expressive wine captures the freshness of the region's cooling Cierzo winds alongside the aromatic intensity of the variety. Minimal intervention in both vineyard and cellar allows the fruit and terroir to take centre stage, resulting in a textured yet remarkably fresh wine with energy, purity, and character.

Sensory Description:

Radiant pale amber in the glass, the wine opens with expressive aromas of white flowers, lychee, quince, white peach, mango, and citrus zest, complemented by delicate creamy notes. The palate is dry, vibrant, and beautifully textured, revealing layers of stone fruit, tropical fruit, candied ginger, white pepper, and subtle spice. Fresh acidity and a distinctive mineral backbone provide precision and lift, while the long, juicy finish leaves lingering impressions of honeyed stone fruit, crushed herbs, and gentle spice.

Winemaker Background:

Vinos del Viento is the project of Michael Cooper, whose passion lies in showcasing Aragón's historic vineyards through expressive, terroir-driven wines. Working with high-altitude, dry-farmed old vines and employing sustainable, minimal-intervention practices, the winery focuses on preserving varietal purity and regional identity. The cooling influence of the region's famous Cierzo wind helps produce wines of freshness, aromatic intensity, and remarkable balance.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve lightly chilled between 8-10°C. An excellent match for Indian, Thai, Vietnamese, and Middle Eastern cuisine, as well as roasted vegetables, hard cheeses, and boldly spiced dishes where the wine's aromatic complexity and refreshing acidity shine.
