Producer’s Background:

Downeast Cider House grew from an idea developed by Bates College students who wanted to make hard cider that retained the cloudy appearance, fresh apple flavor, and fuller texture of the cider they knew from New England orchards. Years of recipe experimentation on a Maine orchard led to the release of the original unfiltered blend in 2011. The company subsequently moved production from Maine to Charlestown and ultimately to East Boston, while maintaining unfiltered cider as a defining part of its identity. As the range expanded into fruit-driven and seasonal releases, that core approach remained consistent: preserve the body and apple character that conventional filtration can remove. Pumpkin Blend applies that philosophy to one of the producer’s established fall releases.
