Sensory Description:

The 2025 Pielihueso Naranjo opens with lifted aromas of orange peel, white flowers, tropical citrus, stone fruit, and fresh herbs. Torrontés contributes its signature floral intensity, while Sauvignon Blanc brings citrus freshness and Chardonnay adds texture and weight. Extended skin contact creates layers of dried orange, apricot, tea-like tannins, and subtle savory complexity. The palate is bright and energetic with refreshing acidity, gentle grip, and a clean, mineral-driven finish that highlights the wine’s balance between aromatic exuberance and structure.

Winemaker’s Background:

Pielihueso, meaning “skin and bones” in Spanish, was founded in 2017 by father-and-daughter team Alejandro and Celina Bartolomé in the Los Chacayes and Los Sauces subregions of the Uco Valley. Drawing upon Alejandro’s long history in organic agriculture, the family established the project with a commitment to organic farming, native fermentations, and minimal-intervention winemaking. Every aspect of the winery reflects a family effort, including the distinctive labels designed by daughter Carmela using artwork created by her brother. The winery has quickly become known for producing light, bright, clean, and vibrant wines that express both place and personality.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve the 2025 Pielihueso Naranjo slightly chilled at 50–55°F in a white wine or universal wine glass. Pair it with Mediterranean cuisine, grilled vegetables, Moroccan-spiced dishes, roasted poultry, sushi, ceviche, hard cheeses, or mezze platters. Its combination of aromatic intensity, texture, and freshness also makes it an excellent introduction to orange wines for both adventurous and traditional wine drinkers.
