Kuentz-Bas Cremant d'Alsace Mosaik Brut, France

Kuentz-Bas Cremant d'Alsace Mosaik Brut, France leads with crisp green apple, ripe stone fruit, and a fresh floral edge, followed by a gently bready, lees-driven nuance and a dry, appetizing finish. Crafted by Maison Kuentz-Bas, a producer whose winemaking history is documented in local records dating back to 1795, this cuvée reflects a long-standing commitment to precision, balance, and food-focused elegance. Under the ownership of Jean-Baptiste Adam and the cellar direction of winemaker Olivier Raffin, the estate has deepened its emphasis on organic and biodynamic farming, aiming to express clarity of fruit and texture while maintaining a consistently bright, approachable style.

Winemaker's Background:

Maison Kuentz-Bas traces its roots to the late 18th century, with a historic cellar built in 1894 that remains central to the estate’s operations today. Since joining forces with Domaine Jean-Baptiste Adam in the early 2000s, the winery has focused on elevating quality through organic and biodynamic viticulture, careful fruit selection, and restrained cellar practices. Winemaker Olivier Raffin has overseen production since 2017, favoring minimal intervention and a style that prioritizes purity, texture, and balance, resulting in wines that are both expressive and reliably versatile at the table.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve well chilled at approximately 8°C in a tulip-shaped sparkling wine glass to highlight the fine mousse and layered aromatics. An excellent aperitif, it also pairs seamlessly with oysters, shellfish, lightly fried seafood, charcuterie, or soft, creamy cheeses, where its acidity and subtle lees character refresh the palate between bites.
