Sensory Description:

A deep garnet color with ruby reflections introduces a complex aromatic profile of red cherry, raspberry, dried roses, and violets, layered with sweet spice, leather, and earthy undertones. The palate is refined yet powerful, with smooth, integrated tannins supporting flavors of ripe red fruit, licorice, and dried fig. Subtle notes of mint and forest floor emerge with aeration, adding freshness and dimension. The structure is precise and balanced, carrying through to a long, persistent finish marked by elegance and tension.

Winemaker’s Background:

Cantina Massara traces its origins to the Burlotto family’s historic presence in Verduno, dating back to the 19th century. Today, the estate is guided by fifth-generation Gian Carlo Burlotto alongside his children Gianluca and Claudia, continuing a legacy defined by respect for tradition and a deep understanding of Nebbiolo. Their wines are known for their aromatic lift, structural finesse, and faithful expression of their vineyard sources.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve at 16 to 18°C in a large Nebbiolo glass to allow full aromatic development. Ideal with braised meats, game, truffle dishes, aged cheeses, and rich, savory cuisine that complements its structure and complexity.
