The 2024 Clos Cibonne Cuvée Spéciale des Vignettes Rosé is one of Provence's most iconic and age-worthy rosés, crafted almost entirely from the rare Tibouren grape and produced using a method found nowhere else in the region. Sourced exclusively from the estate's oldest organically farmed vines, this extraordinary wine is matured beneath a delicate veil of fleurette in century-old oak foudres, developing remarkable texture, complexity, and longevity. Elegant yet profound, it is a singular expression of Provence that continues to reward both immediate enjoyment and extended cellaring.

Sensory Description:

Deep salmon with subtle copper hues, the bouquet is refined and layered with aromas of honey, dried citrus peel, beeswax, toasted nuts, wild herbs, white spice, and delicate floral notes, underpinned by a subtle oxidative complexity from its year beneath fleurette. The palate is concentrated and beautifully structured, revealing blood orange, stone fruit, savoury herbs, spice, and a distinct mineral backbone. Vibrant acidity and remarkable tension balance the wine's richness, while the long, saline finish showcases the unmistakable character of Tibouren and the maritime terroir of Clos Cibonne.

Awards & Accolades:

  • Score: 95 Points, Jamie Goode (WineAnorak), 2024 Vintage

Winemaker’s Background:

Founded during the 18th century between Toulon and Hyères, Clos Cibonne is one of Provence's most historic estates and among the select Crus Classés of Côtes de Provence. For generations, the Deforges family has safeguarded the nearly extinct Tibouren grape, employing traditional goblet-trained vineyards and the estate's distinctive fleurette aging method in ancient oak foudres. Combined with certified organic farming and a unique maritime microclimate shaped by Mediterranean breezes and the Maures Mountains, Clos Cibonne produces some of the world's most distinctive, complex, and age-worthy rosés.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve at 10°C in a medium-sized white wine glass. An exceptional partner for scallops, lobster, grilled Mediterranean fish, bouillabaisse, roast poultry, truffle dishes, Provençal cuisine, aged cheeses, or simply enjoy on its own as it continues to evolve in the glass.
