Red cherry, cranberry, and rose petal rise with fresh, finely drawn aromatic detail. 2025 Delta Wines Pinot Noir is sourced from cool-climate Mendocino County sites, fermented with native yeasts, and matured in a measured combination of new and neutral barrels. Its balance of bright fruit, savory complexity, and restrained oak reflects Matt and Alexis Iaconis’s aim to produce approachable wines while using Delta as a platform for environmental action.

Sensory Description:

The nose opens with red cherry and cranberry, layered with lavender and rose petal. Dried mushroom and cedar introduce a savory, woodland character beneath the fruit. The palate is fresh and composed, with lively red-fruit acidity, a supple texture, and subtle barrel-derived structure. Floral tones return toward the finish, joined by gentle earth and cedar notes that add complexity without overwhelming the wine’s bright Pinot Noir character.

Winemaker's Background:

Delta Wines for Change was created by Matt and Alexis Iaconis after several years building their Brick & Mortar winery. Matt studied viticulture and enology at the University of California, Davis, then gained winemaking experience in Australia, New Zealand, Italy, France, and California, including extended time studying Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in Burgundy. Alexis trained at the Culinary Institute of America, worked as a chef and sommelier, and earned the Advanced Sommelier Certificate from the Court of Master Sommeliers before moving into winery sales and management. Delta connects the couple’s winemaking work with their environmental commitments. The winery uses natural-yeast fermentation, limits its reliance on new oak, selects lighter glass bottles, and works to offset its operational carbon footprint. A portion of sales supports organizations including the Surfrider Foundation and Cool Effect, linking each release with projects focused on ocean protection and reducing carbon emissions.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve slightly cool at 13 to 15 degrees Celsius in a Burgundy-style glass to emphasize the wine’s red-fruit aromatics, floral lift, and savory detail. Pair with roasted salmon, grilled chicken, mushroom risotto, lentils, herb-roasted vegetables, pork tenderloin, or soft-ripened cheeses.
