Sensory Description:

Bright ruby red with subtle violet reflections, this Cabernet Franc opens with inviting aromas of fresh cherry, raspberry, and red currant layered over delicate notes of dried herbs, tobacco leaf, wet limestone, and forest floor. Medium-bodied and supple on the palate, it balances juicy red fruit with vibrant acidity and fine-grained tannins. The characteristic Loire Valley herbal freshness adds complexity without overwhelming the fruit, while a mineral backbone carries through to a long, clean finish accented by savory earth and lingering red berry notes.

Awards & Accolades:

  • 92+ Points – Robert Parker Wine Advocate (Domaine Guiberteau recognition)

Winemaker's Background:

Domaine Guiberteau is one of the Loire Valley’s benchmark producers, with roots dating back to the early twentieth century. The estate gained international acclaim under the leadership of Romain Guiberteau, who took over in 1996 with a commitment to quality-focused viticulture and minimal-intervention winemaking. Guided early on by the legendary Nady Foucault of Clos Rougeard, Romain transformed the family domaine into one of Saumur’s most respected estates. Today, the organically farmed vineyards produce wines celebrated for their transparency, finesse, and authentic expression of Loire terroir.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve lightly chilled at 14–16°C (57–61°F) to emphasize the wine’s freshness and aromatic complexity. Pair with charcuterie boards, roast pork, grilled lamb, mushroom dishes, ratatouille, tomato-based pasta, roast chicken, goat cheese, or traditional Loire specialties such as rillettes and Crottin de Chavignol. No decanting is necessary, allowing the wine’s vibrant fruit character to shine immediately.
