Sensory Description:

Pale citrus in hue, this Arinto unfolds with aromas of crushed seashell, lemon zest, and green apple, underlined by the signature mineral lift of its Atlantic terroir. On the palate, it’s razor-fresh and textural, balancing taut acidity with mouth-filling depth. Notes of lime, white peach, and chalk echo through a long, saline finish that feels both vibrant and pure.

Winemaker's Background:

Since 1910, the Emídio family has farmed the lands of Quinta Várzea da Pedra in the heart of Óbidos, nurturing orchards and vineyards that reflect Portugal’s agricultural soul. Today, the fourth generation continues this legacy through organic, artisanal viticulture, no irrigation, no herbicides, and complete respect for terroir. Under the creative guidance of Tomás Emídio, the estate’s wines unite heritage and modern craftsmanship, offering honest expressions of the Atlantic frontier.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve between 8–10°C in a medium white wine glass to highlight its crisp aromatics and layered minerality. This Arinto shines alongside freshly shucked oysters, grilled sardines, or seafood risotto. It also complements roast poultry, pork tenderloin, and aged Portuguese cheeses like São Jorge or Serra da Estrela.

The 2023 Quinta Várzea da Pedra Arinto is a study in tension and precision, where freshness meets finesse, and the Atlantic’s whisper lingers long after the last sip.
