Dark caramel, dried fruit, roasted malt, and coffee unfold over a deep brown pour with chestnut highlights and a persistent cream-colored head. Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock Beer is a richly malt-driven Bavarian doppelbock whose hearty character reflects the monastic brewing tradition associated with the style. Its depth, restrained sweetness, and measured roast fit naturally within Ayinger's long-standing commitment to traditional Bavarian beer culture and precise brewing.

Sensory Description:

Deep brown with chestnut highlights and a stable cream-colored head, the beer opens with dried fruit, dark caramel, roasted malt, coffee, and a subtle warming note. The palate carries chocolate, toffee, dried fruit, and roast through a medium body, with steady carbonation keeping the malt richness composed. Firm dark-chocolate bitterness counters the sweetness, while coffee, caramel, and roasted malt linger through a focused, gently warming finish.

Brewer's Background:

Ayinger Privatbrauerei traces its brewing history to 1878, when Johann Liebhard established the village brewery that developed into today's family-owned operation. The brewery is now led in the sixth generation by Franz Inselkammer III, who trained as a brewer and maltster before joining the company’s management in 2010. Brewmaster Bernhard Neunhoeffer oversees brewing within a house philosophy that combines modern brewing technology with traditional Bavarian methods. Ayinger emphasizes regional roots, continuity, and the preservation of authentic Bavarian beer culture, values that remain central to its identity more than a century after its founding.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve at 8 to 11 degrees Celsius in a stemmed beer glass, doppelbock glass, or substantial tulip to give the malt, dried-fruit, and roasted aromas room to develop. Pair with braised beef, roast pork, sausages, smoked meats, rich stews, aged Alpine-style cheeses, or dark chocolate desserts.
