Two Vermont favourites meet in Vermont Farmstead Cheese Co. Maple Cheddar: tangy raw-milk cheddar and the mellow sweetness of pure Vermont maple cream. Aged until gently sharp, this smooth-textured cheese balances savoury dairy richness with a restrained maple accent. It is equally at home beside crisp apples and buttery crackers or tucked into a warm sandwich where its sweet-and-savoury character can shine.

Awards & Accolades:

  • 2024: Bronze Medal, Flavored Cheddar, Big E Gold Medal Cheese Competition.

Producer's Background:

Vermont Farmstead Cheese Co. began in 2009 when South Woodstock residents joined together to preserve an 18-acre dairy farm. That community effort developed into a cheesemaking business rooted in Vermont’s agricultural heritage. Head Cheesemaker Rick Woods has been involved since the beginning, bringing extensive cheese-production experience, while president and fifth-generation dairyman Kent Underwood contributes a background in dairy farming and creamery operations.

Serving Suggestions:

Allow the cheese to lose its refrigerator chill before serving, then offer with buttery crackers, apple slices and salami. Dry hard cider provides a refreshing counterpoint to the maple sweetness, while fresh apple cider makes an appealing alcohol-free pairing. Try it in a grilled cheese sandwich with thinly sliced apple or alongside roasted ham. Keep refrigerated and follow the package’s storage and best-before guidance.
