Juicy melon, orange, and subtle blueberry define The Veil Brewing Co. 'Master Shredder' IPA, the brewery's flagship house Hazy IPA. Built around a generous dose of Mosaic hops, Master Shredder delivers expressive fruit and hop saturation at a comparatively easygoing 5.5% ABV. Its combination of ripe hop character, moderate bitterness, and drinkable strength has made it a fixture of The Veil's hop-forward lineup.

  • IBU: 50

Sensory Description:

Juicy cantaloupe and ripe melon lead the aromatic profile, followed by orange, grapefruit, and a subtle suggestion of blueberry. Mosaic provides the beer with its distinctly fruit-driven hop character, while a measured bitterness gives definition beneath the juicy aromatics. At 5.5% ABV, the palate remains lively and highly drinkable, with citrus and melon carrying through a fresh, hop-forward finish.

Brewer's Background:

The Veil Brewing Co. was co-founded in Richmond, Virginia, with Matt Tarpey serving as Head Brewer. Tarpey's brewing background included experience at several influential breweries as well as an internship at Cantillon in Brussels, where his study of traditional spontaneous fermentation helped inspire The Veil's name. Since opening in 2016, the brewery has developed a broad program encompassing hop-forward ales, high-gravity and barrel-aged beers, lagers, and spontaneous fermentation. Master Shredder occupies a central place in that range as The Veil's flagship house Hazy IPA, showcasing the brewery's hop-focused approach through a Mosaic-forward profile and moderate strength.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve fresh and chilled at approximately 7 to 9 degrees Celsius in an IPA or tulip glass to emphasize its melon, citrus, and berry-like Mosaic aromatics. As a hop-forward Hazy IPA, it is best enjoyed fresh rather than cellared. Pair with burgers, fried chicken, tacos, pizza, grilled sausages, spicy dishes, sharp cheddar, or grilled foods seasoned with citrus and fresh herbs.
