Three German Munich malts give Diebolt Brewing's 'Crow Hammer' Dunkel Lager Beer its rich foundation, bringing toffee, caramel, and a hint of chocolate to a crisp, 4.7% ABV lager. Hopped exclusively with German Tettnang and lagered for four weeks, this Munich-style dunkel combines a satisfying malt profile with a medium-bodied texture. Its deep copper color and ruby highlights make an inviting introduction to a beer built for roast dinners, hearty sandwiches, and relaxed evenings.

Sensory Description:

Deep copper with ruby highlights, Crow Hammer centers on rich malt sweetness. Toffee and caramel lead the flavor profile, with a restrained chocolate note adding depth. The palate is medium-bodied, giving those malt flavors room to develop while retaining the crisp finish described by the brewery. German Tettnang hopping supports a balanced lager in which malt remains the main attraction.

Brewer’s Background:

Dan and Jack Diebolt opened their family brewery in Denver’s Sunnyside neighborhood in 2013, following years of homebrewing across two generations. Their French ancestry helped inspire an early focus on farmhouse ales, while Jack’s brewing work has expanded the range into British ales, American IPAs and continental lagers. The brewery operates from a former 1950s meat-packaging building, using a 15-barrel brewhouse and handling brewing, fermentation and packaging onsite. Crow Hammer reflects the traditional lager side of that varied portfolio through its German malt and hop selection.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve around 44–50°F in a lager glass, nonic pint or handled mug, allowing a little warmth to reveal the malt character. Roast pork with caramelized onions, bratwurst, mushroom spaetzle and a roast beef sandwich complement its toffee and caramel notes. Soft pretzels with mustard, roasted almonds or aged Gouda make useful snacks, while a small slice of apple strudel offers a dessert pairing. Keep refrigerated and enjoy fresh.
