Fresh plum, blackberry, and sour cherry open with violet perfume, dark earth, and a subtle peppery edge. 2023 Graffito Malbec is a small-production 100% Malbec made by owner and winemaker Jimena Lopez from hand-harvested vineyards in Alto Agrelo and Altamira, combining the plush texture of Luján de Cuyo with the freshness and lift of the Uco Valley. Its balance of ripe fruit, savory detail, and supple structure reflects Lopez's highly personal approach to vineyard selection and precise, understated winemaking.

Sensory Description:

Deep violet in color, with fresh plum, blackberry, sour cherry, and red currant layered with violet, black pepper, smoky earth, and espresso. The palate is juicy and medium to full-bodied, showing a velvety texture and ripe, berry-soaked tannins. Fresh acidity keeps the fruit composed, while subtle oak, earthy tones, and spice add depth without overwhelming the wine's aromatic lift. The finish is smooth and persistent, balancing ripe fruit with savory detail.

Winemaker’s Background:

Graffito is the personal wine project of Argentine winemaker Jimena Lopez, who developed the label after a career that included work in Argentina and multiple international harvests. Lopez owns the project and manages its winemaking from vineyard selection through final blending, with Malbec at the center of Graffito's identity. The project began around old-vine Mendoza Malbec, including historic material from Alto Agrelo, and has remained deliberately small in scale. Lopez's philosophy emphasizes careful vineyard work, fruit purity, technical precision, and a restrained cellar approach designed to preserve the character of each site.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve at 16 to 18 degrees Celsius in a Bordeaux-style or generous red wine glass to highlight the wine's floral aromatics, ripe fruit, and supple tannins. Pair with grilled steak, barbecue, braised beef, lamb, smoked meats, mushroom dishes, or aged cheeses such as smoked Gouda.
