Sensory Description:

This Sauvignon Blanc opens with aromas of citrus peel, green apple, and fresh-cut herbs, supported by subtle tropical fruit notes. The palate is crisp and energetic, delivering grapefruit, lime, and orchard fruit flavors framed by bright acidity and a clean mineral edge. Gentle herbal nuances add complexity without weight, while the finish remains dry, refreshing, and focused, making the wine particularly versatile at the table.

Producer’s Background:

Founded in 1996 in Chile’s Cachapoal Valley, Viña Fray León works with vineyard holdings across several of the country’s leading wine regions. Under the direction of oenologist Jorge Martínez, the winery combines modern production technology with rigorous fruit selection, utilizing optical sorting systems, pneumatic presses, and comprehensive laboratory analysis to maintain quality and consistency. Sustainability plays an important role in the winery’s operations, supported by certifications focused on energy efficiency and reducing environmental impact.

The Manta label was developed through T. Edward Wines & Spirits and has been associated with the company since 1995. Historically linked with renowned Chilean winemaker Pablo Morandé, the brand focuses on varietally expressive wines that showcase Chile’s favorable growing conditions and exceptional value.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve chilled at 8 to 10 degrees Celsius in a medium-sized white wine glass to emphasize its citrus-driven aromatics and lively acidity. Pair with ceviche, grilled shrimp, fish tacos, oysters, goat cheese, fresh salads, herb-roasted chicken, or light vegetable dishes. Its crisp profile also makes it an excellent aperitif.
