2025 Mill Creek Vineyards & Winery Vera's Block Sauvignon Blanc is an elegant, estate-grown expression of Dry Creek Valley, balancing the variety's natural freshness with a graceful, creamy texture. Harvested during cool September mornings, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented in a combination of stainless steel and neutral French oak. This thoughtful approach preserves delicate floral aromatics and mineral clarity while developing a supple, rounded palate. Notes of orange blossom, white peach, tropical fruit, and ripe nectarine unfold with vibrant acidity, finishing fresh, silky, and beautifully composed.

Winemaker's Background:

Mill Creek Vineyards & Winery represents four generations of Kreck family grape growing and winemaking in Sonoma County's Dry Creek Valley. The family's agricultural roots in the area began with Charles Kreck, whose sons Bill and Bob helped establish vineyards in 1964, including the valley's first Cabernet Sauvignon planting. In 1969, the family acquired its present estate on Westside Road, transforming former prune orchards into vineyards before beginning commercial wine production in 1974. The winery has remained closely connected to its farming heritage, with the family's estate now encompassing approximately 65 acres planted to eight grape varieties.

Third-generation winemaker Jeremy Kreck assumed responsibility for winemaking in 2004 and also oversees the estate's vineyards. Having grown up around the family's farming operations, he developed a vineyard-first philosophy that emphasizes fruit quality, thoughtful vineyard management and careful winemaking. His approach combines traditional techniques with modern practices, allowing individual vineyard sites to shape each wine's character. Under his leadership, Mill Creek has continued expanding its vineyard-designated offerings while strengthening its commitment to environmental stewardship, earning Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing status in 2017.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve chilled at approximately 8-10°C to highlight its floral aromatics, refreshing acidity and creamy texture. This Sauvignon Blanc pairs beautifully with grilled chicken, fresh fish, seafood and herb-driven dishes. Its bright fruit and mineral character also complement basil pesto, guacamole, goat cheese and other soft cheeses. Equally enjoyable on its own, it is an inviting choice for warm afternoons, outdoor gatherings and leisurely meals.
