Fresh strawberry, tart kiwi, and bright acidity give Cerebral Brewing's 'Hands off My Fruit' Fruited Sour Ale a vivid, refreshing profile. Released in 2026 in collaboration with Planned Parenthood Votes Colorado, the beer pairs fruit-driven sourness with a broader message centered on access to comprehensive health care. It reflects Cerebral’s ongoing approach of combining technically precise brewing with collaborative projects tied to its community and values.

Sensory Description:

Strawberry brings ripe red-fruit character to the front, followed by the sharper, greener tang of kiwi. The palate is lively and refreshing, with fruit sweetness balanced by a clean sour edge that keeps the beer focused rather than heavy. The combination gives the ale a bright, juicy character, finishing tart, crisp, and fruit-driven.

Brewer's Background:

Cerebral Brewing was founded in 2015 by Sean Buchan and Dan McGuire in Denver’s Congress Park neighborhood. The brewery describes its method as a scientific approach to beer, combining precise quality-control practices with experimentation and continual recipe development. Since 2022, Cerebral has brewed from an 18,000-square-foot production facility in Aurora, with Sam Bennett serving as Head Brewer. Alongside its broad range of IPAs, lagers, sour beers, and barrel-aged releases, Cerebral regularly uses collaborative projects to support organizations and causes within its wider community.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve chilled at 5 to 7 degrees Celsius in a stemmed sour-beer glass or small tulip to emphasize the strawberry, kiwi, and bright acidity. Pair with fresh goat cheese, ceviche, spicy tacos, grilled prawns, fruit-forward salads, or lightly sweet desserts, where the beer’s tart structure can provide a refreshing contrast to richness, spice, and sweetness.

Cerebral Brewing

But Cerebral Brewing is more than its beer. Deeply rooted in the community, the brewery has always seen craft beer as a platform for positive change. Each year, they dedicate a portion of profits to local nonprofits, focusing on causes like women’s rights, LGBTQ+ equality, anti-gun violence, and healthcare access. Their monthly Queer Beers events, created by queer staff for the queer community, donate proceeds from every pint to rotating nonprofit partners.
