Bathed in the warmth of a flawless growing season, the 2015 Château Ferrand Lartigue captures the spirit of Saint-Émilion at its most expressive, refined yet radiant with vitality. From the first swirl, its deep garnet hue and perfumed bouquet hint at the harmony within: Merlot’s velvety richness lifted by Cabernet’s aromatic finesse. This is a wine born of contrast, the generosity of the sun balanced by the quiet coolness of limestone and clay soils, resulting in a Grand Cru that feels both classic and full of life, crafted with precision and patience from one of Bordeaux’s most exceptional vintages.

Sensory Description:

The 2015 vintage opens with aromas of blackcurrant, blueberry, and ripe cherry layered with hints of violet and spice. On the palate, it delivers depth and roundness, a generous core of dark fruit framed by fine-grained tannins and undertones of cocoa, truffle, and vanilla. The finish is long, velvety, and harmoniously balanced, with just enough freshness to promise graceful evolution in the cellar.

Winemaker's Background:

Château Ferrand Lartigue, established in 1993 by Pierre Ferrand, is a relatively young yet dynamic estate in Saint-Émilion. In 2008, the property was acquired by Vitis Vintage, owners of Grand Lartigue and Château Tourteau Chollet. The arrival of consulting winemaker Stéphane Derenoncourt marked a turning point, elevating quality through lower yields, replanting for density, and careful vineyard management. With just 2,500 cases produced annually, the wines exemplify the estate’s vision: purity, structure, and elegance over brute power.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve slightly below room temperature, at 60–64 °F (16–18 °C). The 2015 Château Ferrand Lartigue pairs beautifully with dishes such as ribeye steak, tournedos Rossini, or confit lamb with onions. It also complements Saint-Nectaire cheese, truffle pizza, and richly sauced poultry. For a classic Bordeaux experience, decant 30 minutes before serving to allow its silky tannins and aromas to fully unfold.

The 2015 Château Ferrand Lartigue is a shining example of the vintage’s generosity, elegant, expressive, and built to age gracefully for a decade or more.
