Brasserie d'Achouffe was founded in the late 1970s by brothers-in-law Pierre Gobron and Christian Bauweraerts, who started with a modest 49-liter batch in a small cottage in the Ardennes. The now-famous gnome mascots and fantasy narratives have helped propel Achouffe beers to international fame.
