Cerebral Brewing was founded in 2015 by Sean Buchan and Dan McGuire in Denver’s Congress Park neighborhood. Buchan serves as Co-Founder and CEO, McGuire as Co-Founder and CFO, and Sam Bennett currently leads the brewing team as Head Brewer. Cerebral describes its philosophy as a scientific approach to beer, combining precise methodology and an in-house quality assurance and quality control laboratory with ongoing creative experimentation. Lyric Brewing Company is a Denver-area nano brewery, and Cheer in Space marks the first collaboration between the two producers. The project developed through an exchange of brewing techniques, including discussions of mash temperatures, grist composition, water chemistry, and approaches to hop-forward beer, before the breweries translated those ideas into a shared recipe built around their mutual interest in expressive hop varieties.
