Red currant, black cherry, and raspberry open with juicy freshness, fine spice, and a lightly earthy Pinot Noir character. Leitz ZERO-POINT-FIVE Pinot Noir is made from 100% Pinot Noir sourced from Baden, then carefully dealcoholized using a Spinning Cone Column at low temperature to retain the wine's varietal aroma and structure. Its balance of vivid red fruit, gentle tannin, and lively acidity reflects Leitz's broader effort to create dealcoholized wines that retain the shape and character of traditionally vinified wine.

Sensory Description:

Red and dark currants, raspberry, blueberry, and ripe cherry form a vivid fruit core, with subtle spice and an earthy, savory undertone adding Pinot Noir definition. The palate is juicy and fresh, framed by fine, integrated tannins rather than heavy extraction. Lively acidity keeps the berry fruit focused, while black cherry and red currant carry into a long, almost dry finish. Falstaff's 2025 assessment likewise emphasized dense berry fruit, elegant tannins, fine savoriness, and notable length.

Awards & Accolades:

  • Score: Falstaff 92 Points, 2025
  • Silver: International Non-Alcoholic Competition 2025, 93 Points

Winemaker’s Background:

Weingut Leitz is a family estate based in Rüdesheim am Rhein. Johannes Leitz assumed responsibility for the winery in 1985 after training as a master vintner, growing the estate from a small family holding into one of the Rheingau's established producers. His son Antonius now works alongside him as the next generation, while Isabelle Eger serves as Head Winemaker. The estate combines modern cellar technology with traditional craftsmanship and is independently certified under FAIR'N GREEN sustainability standards. For ZERO-POINT-FIVE Pinot Noir, Leitz looks beyond its Riesling-focused Rheingau base to Baden, sourcing Pinot Noir from the Kaiserstuhl area and applying low-temperature Spinning Cone Column technology to preserve varietal fruit and texture during dealcoholization.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve lightly chilled at approximately 12°C in a medium-sized red wine or Burgundy-style glass. The combination of bright fruit, fine tannin, and fresh acidity works well with roast poultry, grilled salmon, mushrooms, pork, lamb biryani, game dishes, grilled vegetables, or lighter pasta preparations.
