Summer berries, crisp green apple, and citrus open with a bright, finely sparkling profile. Odd Bird Sparkling Rose is a 0.0% dealcoholized Syrah rosé from Languedoc-Roussillon, made with short skin contact, stainless-steel fermentation, and twelve months on fine lees before gentle low-temperature dealcoholization. Fresh acidity, subtle structure, and restrained fruit reflect Oddbird's focus on treating dealcoholized wine as a serious expression of winemaking rather than an alternative defined by what has been removed.

Sensory Description:

Pale rosé in character, with summer berries, green apple, and fresh citrus leading the aromatic profile. The palate is rather dry and silky, carried by lively acidity and a fine sparkling texture. Syrah contributes gentle tannic structure and a subtle spicy undertone, while the extended fine-lees maturation adds roundness without diminishing freshness. Bright berry fruit and citrus remain focused through a clean, refreshing finish.

Winemaker’s Background:

Oddbird was founded in Sweden in 2013 by Moa Gürbüzer, whose more than two decades of work as a family therapist shaped the company's mission to change the culture surrounding alcohol. Rather than treating alcohol-free wine simply as a substitute, Oddbird developed a wine-focused approach in which the wines are fermented and matured before their alcohol is removed. Today the family-founded company, led by CEO Mehmet Gürbüzer, works with winemakers, sensory scientists, universities, wineries, and technical partners to refine dealcoholization and preserve aroma, texture, and structure. The current Sparkling Rosé is based on Syrah, replacing an earlier Oddbird rosé formulation documented as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees Celsius in a tulip-shaped sparkling wine glass or white wine glass to preserve its freshness while allowing the berry and citrus aromas to open. Pair with fresh seafood, Mediterranean salads, grilled vegetables, sushi, light charcuterie, or simply serve as a bright 0.0% aperitif.
