Juicy red fruit and lifted aromatics leap from the glass, immediately signaling a vibrant and playful style. 2025 Outward Valdiguie channels the energy of whole-cluster carbonic fermentation and coastal-influenced farming into a wine that is light on its feet yet deeply expressive, capturing both the heritage of this rare California grape and the precision of modern, low-intervention winemaking.

Sensory Description:

Aromas of watermelon candy, fresh cherry, and macerated strawberry are immediately expressive, layered with notes of rhubarb and a subtle herbal lift. The palate is exceptionally light and energetic, driven by bright acidity and a juicy core of red fruit. Carbonic fermentation brings a lifted, almost effervescent quality to the texture, enhancing the wine’s freshness and drinkability. Beneath the fruit-forward profile lies a gentle earthiness and soft tannin structure, adding dimension without weight. The finish is clean, refreshing, and vibrant, with lingering notes of tart red fruit and a delicate mineral edge.

Winemaker’s Background:

Outward Wines is a partnership between Natalie Siddique and Ryan Pace, focused on producing small-lot, site-driven wines from California’s Central Coast. Their philosophy centers on organic farming, coastal influence, and minimal intervention in the cellar, allowing each vineyard to express its natural character. Working with both estate and carefully selected sites, they employ native fermentations, neutral oak aging, and avoid fining and filtration. Their wines reflect not only place, but also a spirit of exploration and a commitment to authenticity and balance.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve slightly chilled at 12 to 14°C in a Burgundy or universal glass to highlight its aromatic lift and vibrant texture. Ideal with charcuterie, roast chicken, grilled vegetables, or picnic-style fare. Its bright acidity and light body also make it a versatile partner for a wide range of casual and seasonal dishes.
