Sensory Description:

Dark, expressive fruit defines the nose and palate, with layers of blackberries, blackcurrant, plum, and clove unfolding into baked tart berries, boysenberry, cranberry, and pomegranate. The fruit profile remains vivid and unmasked, anchored by a mineral backbone that keeps the wine lively and refreshing. On the palate, Barbera’s natural acidity drives the wine forward, delivering a clean, juicy texture and a finish that feels both satisfying and thirst-quenching.

Winemaker's Background:

Rooted in the village of Carrù on the western edge of the Langhe hills, Poderi Cellario is led by third-generation winemakers Fausto and Cinzia Cellario. Their philosophy centers on defending indigenous Piedmontese grape varieties and preserving traditional vineyard and cellar practices. Farming 13 hectares across four nearby sites, they work organically with biodynamic techniques, relying exclusively on native yeasts and using sulfur sparingly, only when necessary. Aging takes place in neutral vessels such as cement, large oak, and amphora, allowing each wine to express its origin honestly and without embellishment.

Serving Suggestions:

Pour slightly cool to enhance freshness and drinkability. Designed for everyday enjoyment, this Barbera shines alongside casual fare, pizza, cured meats, simple pasta dishes, grilled vegetables, and rustic cheeses. Its liter format and easygoing nature make it ideal for gatherings, long meals, and moments when the bottle is meant to disappear quickly.

Unpretentious, vibrant, and deeply rooted in tradition, Poderi Cellario E’ Rosso delivers exactly what it promises: pure Barbera pleasure, made for pouring generously and enjoying together.
