Winemaker's Background:

The Leitz family's winemaking history is rooted in Rüdesheim am Rhein, where Josef Leitz rebuilt the family winery following its destruction during the Second World War. Johannes Leitz assumed responsibility for the estate in 1985 after completing his training as a master vintner, beginning with just 2.9 hectares and subsequently developing Leitz into one of the Rheingau's recognized producers. Alongside its traditional wines, the estate has invested substantially in alcohol-free winemaking through the EINS-ZWEI-ZERO range. The name evolved from Leitz's EINS-ZWEI-DRY Riesling, while the ZERO family applies careful base-wine production and low-temperature vacuum distillation to wines designed specifically for alcohol-free drinking.
