Sensory Description:

Expressive and fresh on the nose, with tropical fruit joined by crisp apple and citrus notes. The palate is light and energetic, allowing Sauvignon Blanc's naturally aromatic character to remain at the forefront. Bright acidity defines the mid-palate, balancing the ripe fruit and giving the wine a clean, refreshing profile. The finish is lively and fruit-driven, with citrus freshness lingering after the tropical and orchard-fruit notes recede.

Winemaker's Background:

The Leitz family's winemaking history is rooted in Rüdesheim am Rhein, where the estate was rebuilt by Josef Leitz following the Second World War. Johannes Leitz assumed responsibility for the family winery in 1985 after completing his training as a master vintner and subsequently developed the property into one of the Rheingau's recognized estates. Alongside its traditional wines, Leitz has invested extensively in dealcoholized winemaking, applying gentle vacuum distillation to finished wines in an effort to retain varietal aroma, freshness, and structure after alcohol removal. The Sauvignon Blanc belongs to the ZERO-POINT-FIVE side of this alcohol-free portfolio, which allows up to 0.5% alcohol by volume.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve well chilled at approximately 7 to 9°C in a white wine glass to emphasize its aromatic fruit and refreshing acidity. Its tropical and citrus profile works particularly well with fresh salads, goat cheese, asparagus, grilled vegetables, seafood, sushi, light fish dishes, and herb-driven preparations. It can also be served on its own as a fresh alcohol-free aperitif.
