Fresh aromatic grapes, ripe peach, and delicate floral tones rise from the glass with a gentle, lively fizz. 2024 Fratelli Ponte Fiore di Loto is a Moscato d’Asti shaped by careful temperature-controlled fermentation, preserving the grape’s perfume and natural sweetness while keeping the wine light at just 5.5% alcohol. It continues a family winemaking tradition carried through three generations of the Ponte family since the establishment of the modern winery in 1968.

Sensory Description:

Light straw in color with a fine, delicate effervescence, the wine opens with intensely fresh Moscato aromatics of ripe grapes, peach, citrus blossom, and white flowers. The palate is gently sweet and lightly sparkling, with fresh grape and soft stone-fruit flavors carried by enough acidity to retain lift and freshness. Its low alcohol and restrained fizz keep the texture delicate, leading to a clean, aromatic finish.

Winemaker's Background:

Fratelli Ponte traces its modern history to the years following World War II, when Carlo Ponte cultivated Barbera at Bricco Ronchesio and produced wine in a small family cellar. His son Giuseppe expanded the vineyards and, in 1968, established a new winery at Gorzano under the Fratelli Ponte name. Today the third generation, brothers Massimo, Ivan, and Renato Ponte, continues the family business. Ivan and Renato are trained enologists and oversee production and aging in the cellar, while vineyard and cellar work remain closely managed by the family. The estate combines generational continuity with temperature-controlled stainless steel vinification and modern bottling equipment designed to protect freshness and varietal expression.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees Celsius in a white wine glass or small tulip-shaped sparkling wine glass to emphasize its perfume and gentle effervescence. Pair with fresh berries, fruit tarts, peach or apricot desserts, meringue, light pastries, or gelato with fruit. Its aromatic sweetness and low alcohol also make it an appealing match for moderately spicy dishes or a refreshing finish to a meal.
