Briny olive, crisp pickle, and bright vinegar meet in a savory bite with firm texture and lively acidity. Filthy Pickle Olives combine naturally cured queen olives with crunchy miniature gherkins, transforming two familiar bar snacks into a distinctive cocktail garnish hand-stuffed in Miami. The product reflects Filthy founder Daniel Singer’s original goal of replacing conventional cocktail garnishes with ingredients selected specifically to complement well-made drinks.

Sensory Description:

The queen olive brings a rich, savory character with subtle woody and nutty tones, while the miniature gherkin adds an immediate snap and a brighter current of pickle acidity. Moderate salinity frames the combination without masking its contrasting textures. Vinegar and lactic acidity keep the finish clean and appetizing, leaving a lingering balance of olive brine, tart pickle, and gentle herbal savor.

Producer’s Background:

Filthy began with founder Daniel Singer’s frustration that carefully prepared cocktails were routinely finished with chemically cured salad olives and overly processed cherries. Beginning in 2007, Singer and his brother Marc spent two years examining hundreds of cultivatable olive and cherry varieties in search of garnishes better suited to premium drinks. The company was then built one bar at a time, with products initially sold from car trunks and carried on subway journeys. Filthy emphasizes naturally cured olives because the process preserves their inherent nutty and savory character, reducing the need for the heavy oil and salt commonly used to restore flavor and texture to chemically treated fruit. Filthy Pickle extends that approach with a playful but functional garnish designed around both flavor and texture.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Bloody Mary: Skewer one or more olives as a crisp, savory garnish for classic or spicy Bloody Mary variations
  • Martini: Use in a Dirty Martini or savory vodka Martini when a brighter pickle accent is preferred
  • Other Cocktails: Pair with picklebacks, Gibson variations, Micheladas, or spirit-free savory drinks
  • Snacking: Serve chilled as a bar snack or alongside cheese, cured meats, potato chips, and other salty appetizers
  • Service: Chill before serving and refrigerate after opening

Why Filthy Pickle Olives:

Filthy Pickle Olives deliver the richness of a naturally cured queen olive and the crisp acidity of a miniature gherkin in one compact garnish. Their contrasting textures make them visually memorable in a cocktail and satisfying enough to serve independently as a snack. For bars and home drink cabinets, they offer a versatile alternative to a standard olive or pickle spear without requiring additional preparation.
