Citrus zest, white peach, green apple, and delicate alpine herbs rise from the glass with bright, finely drawn energy. 2025 Luigi Baudana 'Dragon' Langhe Bianco reflects the long evolution of this Piedmont white blend, where Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are now layered with Nascetta and Rhine Riesling to build greater aromatic nuance and mineral precision. Shaped by a small-yielding vintage marked by luminous fruit and vivid freshness, this release carries slightly more tension and linearity than the softer, broader 2024 vintage while remaining unmistakably elegant and expressive.

Sensory Description:

The nose opens with lemon zest, white peach, green apple, and white blossoms layered with subtle sage and crushed stone. The palate is taut and luminous, driven by bright acidity and a fine mineral thread that gives the wine shape and persistence. Compared with the previous vintage, the 2025 shows slightly more citrus precision and vertical lift, with cooler-toned fruit and a more focused structural profile. Herbal and saline accents linger through a long, clean finish that remains energetic without sharpness.

Producer’s Background:

Luigi Baudana is a historic Serralunga d’Alba estate whose vineyards and cellar traditions were preserved through the partnership between Luigi and Fiorina Baudana and the Vajra family of G.D. Vajra. Since assuming stewardship in 2009, the Vajra family has maintained the estate’s identity while farming under certified organic practices focused on biodiversity, soil health, and long-term vineyard vitality. Dragon remains one of the estate’s most distinctive wines, combining international and indigenous varieties in a style that balances Piedmontese freshness with layered aromatic complexity.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve chilled at 8 to 10 degrees Celsius in a medium-sized white wine glass to emphasize the wine’s citrus detail, mineral precision, and aromatic lift. Pair with shellfish, grilled river fish, fresh goat cheese, herb-roasted poultry, risotto with spring vegetables, or light alpine cheeses.
