Roasted pineapple, smoked pepper, cinnamon, and warm baking spice open with vivid aromatic depth. Artenom 'Seleccion de 1123' Tequila Blanco Historico is produced at Destilería Cascahuín in El Arenal, Jalisco, using Valley-grown Tequilana Weber agave and a short conditioning period in used American white oak brandy casks that previously held Oaxacan mezcal. It reflects ArteNOM’s focus on showcasing the distinct work of individual tequileros and the expressive identity of each NOM.

Sensory Description:

The aroma opens with roasted pineapple, warm butter, baking spice, smoked pepper, and a subtle cider note. The palate is vivid and layered, moving from hot cinnamon and black pepper into sweet potato, vanilla, licorice, almond, and a fine thread of smoke. Bright agave character remains at the center, while the short cask conditioning adds texture and quiet depth without obscuring the tequila’s mineral, peppery drive. The finish is clean, warming, and gently sweet, with lingering spice and smoke.

Distiller’s Background:

ArteNOM Selección builds its portfolio around individual NOMs, working with respected tequila producers to highlight the character of specific distilleries, methods, and regions. This expression comes from Destilería Cascahuín in El Arenal, a Valley distillery known for mineral, earthy, and traditionally styled tequilas. Under Master Distiller Salvador “Chava” Rosales, the tequila is shaped through oven cooking, cement fermentation, pot distillation, and brief cask conditioning, creating a blanco with added dimension while retaining clarity and agave freshness.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve neat at room temperature in a copita or small tasting glass to show its roasted agave, pepper, and smoke detail. It can also be enjoyed over a single large rock. For cocktails, use it in a Spicy Margarita to amplify its natural heat and pepper, or in a Paloma where roasted fruit and subtle smoke play against fresh grapefruit. Pair with grilled shrimp, roasted pork, charred vegetables, citrus-marinated fish, or spicy tacos.
