Sensory Description:

Brilliant pale gold in the glass, this Chenin Blanc immediately impresses with its precision and purity. Aromas of citrus blossom, quince, green apple, pear, and crushed stone rise from the glass alongside subtle hints of honeycomb and white flowers. The palate is energetic and focused, revealing layers of lemon zest, orchard fruits, chalk, and wet limestone. A striking mineral core and vibrant acidity provide tension and structure, while notes of salinity and fine texture add depth. The finish is long, fresh, and intensely mineral, promising both immediate enjoyment and graceful development with age.

Producer's Background:

Domaine Guiberteau traces its origins to the early twentieth century when Clément Manguin established the family estate. The domaine expanded significantly under Robert Guiberteau, who acquired the famed Clos des Carmes vineyard in 1954. Since taking over in 1996, Romain Guiberteau has transformed the estate into one of the Loire Valley’s elite producers. Mentored by Nady Foucault of Clos Rougeard, he embraced organic farming and low-intervention winemaking, earning official organic certification in 2007. Today, the estate’s vineyards across Brézé, Montreuil-Bellay, Épieds, and Saint-Just-sur-Dive produce wines celebrated worldwide for their transparency, precision, and profound expression of terroir.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve at 10–12°C (50–54°F) in a white wine glass to showcase its aromatic complexity and mineral detail. Pair with roasted chicken, turkey, white fish, shellfish, fresh goat cheese, olives, seasonal salads, or creamy vegetable dishes. While beautifully expressive now, this wine also possesses the structure to evolve and gain additional richness over the next four to five years.
