Sensory Description:

Pale straw in color, this Bourgogne Aligoté opens with delicate aromas of white flowers, crisp pear, green apple, citrus blossom, and subtle hints of lemon zest. The palate is bright and energetic, offering refreshing flavors of orchard fruits accented by lively citrus and a gentle mineral tension derived from its clay-limestone soils. Lees aging contributes a refined texture while preserving the grape's naturally vibrant acidity. The finish is clean, crisp, and persistent, leaving an impression of freshness, elegance, and remarkable purity.

Winemaker's Background:

Founded in 1926, Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron is one of the Côte d'Or's most respected family estates. Today, the domaine is led by Sophie Meunier-Confuron and her husband Alain Meunier, who transformed the vineyards toward environmentally responsible viticulture and introduced horse plowing to preserve soil health. Their son, Louis Meunier, now oversees winemaking while continuing the family's philosophy of minimal intervention and precision. Farming approximately eight hectares across fourteen prestigious appellations, including holdings in Romanée-Saint-Vivant and Clos de Vougeot, the family produces elegant wines that faithfully express Burgundy's diverse terroirs.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve well chilled at approximately 8°C (46°F) to highlight its vibrant acidity and mineral character. This refreshing Aligoté pairs beautifully with seafood risotto, fresh green salads, oysters, grilled prawns, soft cheeses, goat cheese, sushi, steamed shellfish, and light poultry dishes. Its crisp profile also makes it an outstanding aperitif and an excellent companion to warm-weather dining.
