Sensory Description:

Brilliant pale gold in the glass, Terre de Pierre opens with expressive aromas of white flowers, ripe pear, crisp green apple, lemon zest, and delicate citrus blossom. As the wine evolves, its distinctive mineral character emerges, revealing crushed stone, wet rock, and subtle saline notes that beautifully reflect its rare serpentinite and peridotite soils. The palate is remarkably focused and energetic, balancing vibrant orchard fruit with bright citrus, taut acidity, and an unmistakable maritime salinity. Extended lees aging lends subtle texture and depth while preserving remarkable freshness. The finish is long, chalky, savory, and layered with lingering mineral precision and umami complexity.

Winemaker's Background:

Domaine Pierre Luneau-Papin is one of the Loire Valley's benchmark producers and among the leading estates responsible for elevating Muscadet into the ranks of France's great white wines. Founded generations ago and now led by ninth-generation vignerons Pierre-Marie Luneau and Marie Luneau, the estate farms approximately 40 hectares across some of the appellation's most distinctive geological formations. Fully certified organic and biodynamic, every parcel is farmed individually to reveal the unique personality of its terroir. Minimal-intervention winemaking, native yeast fermentations, and patient lees aging allow each vineyard expression to speak with remarkable clarity, precision, and longevity.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve lightly chilled at approximately 12°C (54°F) in a medium-sized white wine glass to fully appreciate its aromatic complexity and mineral precision. This exceptional Muscadet pairs beautifully with roasted prawn salad, oysters, scallops, lobster, crab, ceviche, sushi, egg yolk confit with soy and citrus vinaigrette, grilled white fish, or fresh goat cheeses. While wonderfully expressive in its youth, its remarkable structure and mineral backbone will reward careful cellaring for well over a decade.
